2020 TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL NEWS
To our fellow classic movie fans,

In our last communication, we shared that we were closely monitoring the current coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and that ensuring the health and safety of our fans, special guests, partners and staff was our top priority.

In light of the increasing public health concerns related to coronavirus and after consultation with our internal and external partners, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 TCM Classic Film Festival.

As previously announced, all pass purchases will be refunded at 100%. Pass purchasers should allow 10-15 business days for the refund to appear on the credit card used. No written cancellation request is required.

When we first announced the TCM Classic Film Festival in 2009, we were often asked, “Why does a TV network want to start a film festival?” That answer was easy for us. It was because we knew you’d come. Well, you certainly did and for that we sincerely thank you.

We assure you that we will begin planning the next TCM Classic Film Festival soon and will endeavor to make the 2021 edition the best Festival yet. We expect dates for the 2021 TCM Classic Film Festival to be announced in late summer or early fall of 2020.

I guess the next shoe to drop is if more movie theaters will close or limit the number of people who can attend a movie so that there is plenty of space between people.

To our TCM Classic Film Festival Community,

When we last communicated with you, we said we hoped to bring the TCM Classic Film Festival back to Hollywood in 2021. We also reiterated our ongoing commitment to the health and safety of our attendees, partners and staff. Given our commitment to producing a safe event for all attendees and the current status of the global pandemic, we will forgo hosting an in-person event and instead be presenting the 2021 TCM Classic Film Festival as a virtual experience.

The TCM staff are already hard at work on building an engaging and unique experience for our fans that will feature exciting discussions and panels, memorable TCM Classic Film Festival moments and movies, and the opportunity to gather as a community and share in our love of classic movies.
