Warner Bros. titles coming to FilmStruck include many that have never been available on a subscription video-on-demand platform. Those include “Casablanca,” “Rebel Without a Cause,” “Singin’ In the Rain,” “Citizen Kane,” “The Music Man,” “Bringing Up Baby,” “The Thin Man,” “Cat People,” “A Night At The Opera,” “An American In Paris” and “Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?”

I didn't see anything about the WB TV shows that are on Warner Archive streaming. Will they also move to FilmStruck or just disappear?

Smart movie on Warner's part, as Warner Archive was not available on many platforms.

Good question....just my guess, but since they only mention "classic films" and that the Archive stream will be "shut down", my assumption is the TV stuff will just disappear (unless they strike a licensing deal with another streaming service for TV titles).

FilmStruck is getting more and more appealing to me. I might have to subscribe before too long.

I subscribed earlier this month for free 14 days and then $99.00 for a year. I haven't even started watching Warner titles as I've been concentrated on Criterion titles. I did see Casablanca as I browsed just now.

Man, browsing these films is like being a kid on Christmas morning for film buffs. Wow just found Command Decision on it. Also, this is a foreign film bonanza!

After cancelling Warner Archive last year in anticipation of this (I had heard through the grapevine that WA was shutting down as soon as this deal got finalized) I am looking forward to subscribing to FS.

I've been on the fence about whether or not to keep my subscription to Netflix...as soon as I finish a couple shows on there I'm dropping it and adding this!

The Warner Archive had recently announced plans to reissue the first season of MAYBERRY, RFD, which has been selling for several hundred dollars since going out of print. Are we now to assume that this and any other planned Warner Archive TV series releases are to be cancelled?

EDIT: OK, I see that no mention is made in the article regarding The Warner Archive DVD-R division, and the MAYBERRY, RFD Season 1 DVD set is slated for release tomorrow (February 27, 2018). I'm hoping WA continues with their DVD-R releases for awhile longer, as I really do want this set, but am unable to purchase it just now.

    CHEERS! :)

I don't think shutting down their streaming service necessarily means anything one way or another for their mod physical release program that shared the name.

I pulled this from Warner Archive's FB feed.

I wish someone would aggregate the tv shows from the 50s-80s and do a streaming service devoted to uncut, uninterrupted episodes, complete runs of shows, from good sources like Warner Archive used. Having a few tv shows offered among many movies isn't filling the gap. It would be sort of like the original TV Land, or today's ME-TV, only without the cuts, time-compression, cropping, and commercial breaks.

I looked at the FilmStruck site and am DEFINITELY interested in signing up! It shows compatibility with AppleTV, but I don't see FilmStruck on my AppleTV home screen (3rd gen). Any knowledge of how to get it on there?

I think it will only work with the newer Apple TV models that allow you to download apps.
