Turn-on "click" through speakers when i flip light switch.. (1 Viewer)

it's annoying and i'm afraid i might damage something in the electronics if i don't do something about this. the outlet is located near my kitchen (i live in an apt.) and is the only outlet on that side of the wall where the HT setup is. i have a surge protector, albeit not an expensive one, but would like some advice on how to curb that click or get rid of it altogether. short of NEVER using the switch while my receiver is on is there any other alternative??

I believe your switch is either arcing or 'bouncing' during a closure. go down to your local electrical supply house, tell them what's happening and they'll suggest a quiet alternative.
