The SACD is the original quad mix,as it's explained in the booklet.I liked it.I'll look forward to the '03 version on DVD-A as well.Anyone
This is true Lewis, but being a quad mix, it did not exploit the center or LFE channels. For a vintage recording it is serviceable, but I was expecting a bit more sonically and dynamically.

Well I guess we just have different definition of what is "dynamic".I use BM so there was no shortage on bass on this disc, and I certainly didn't miss the center, there were plenty of phantom stereo images in the middle.
Perhaps you'll like the new mix better,I'm gonna get it too.

I'm looking forward to the hopeful Region 1 release of the DVD audio/ video box set including the Tubular Bells 2003 DVD-A, Tubular Bells II (Edinburgh Castle) DVD, Tubular Bells III (Horseguard’s Parade) DVD, and The Millennium Bell (Berlin) DVD (for someone who doesn't own any Mike Oldfield DVDs).
