With the impending release of Transformers Season 1, I was feeling nostalgic and thought about the cool toys I had as a kid. (and lamenting on how toys and cartoons suck these days)

After thinking of Transformers, G.I. Joe, He-man, and MASK, I remembered a brand of toys that I cannot for the life of me recall what their name was.

The basic premise was that the were good guys vs. bad guys. (of course) Everyone was sorta a human/insect cross. They basically looked human but had antennae and funky eyes. Also, they each rode a giant insect. Some were spider type things that you could put your hand in a glove to move the legs. Another was a dragon-fly looking thing who's wings were battery operated. The people where a little taller than He-man figures and had guns and such. (I think one even had a whip)

Can anyone help me out? I search through Ebay, but wasn't able to come up with anything. I don't think there was a cartoon associated with it, but I could be wrong.

    Thanks.

Are you by any chance referring to Micronauts?
EDIT: No, I realize that's not it. Damn, I know exactly what you are referring to, but I can't remember what they were called either. [IMG]
EDIT #2: Now I'm thinking something like "Insectosaurs," but a search yields nothing, so I have no clue.

I remember some toys called bug riders or insect riders, can't remember which, but they were out only a few years ago. Unless you're 16 or something then it's probably not what you're looking for.

This is easy! They are the awesome Insectors! or maybe it's spelled Insektors! (Insectoids?). I've been searching garage sales and pawn shops for years, I comb through Ebay every few months (since I'm there working on my Dungeons & Dragons toy collection anyway) looking for them.

Good luck. These things are so rare they might as well be made from pure Unobtanium.

I think the answer is SECTAURS...they were quite big, and the insects legs were gloves (like a puppet).
    Hope it helps...

And the one guy had a big Dragonfly mount, with neat irridescent wings.

Not NEARLY as kewl and 1337 as VISIONARIES!

    Visionaries,

    Knights of the magical light!

    Visionaries,

    With magical powers they fight!

The toys all had really really groovy holograms.

The toys and show were cool. I was sad that it didn't last very long.

Man, all the cool toys growing up. I feel bad for kids today. Toys today really suck. We had Transformers, GI Joe, Star Wars figures, M.A.S.K, Voltron, He-Man, etc...

I actually still have a lot of my GI Joe toys. I boxed them up after a while and they're at my moms, safe and sound, `till I get a house of my own to set them up. But yeah, toys today suck compared to toys back in the 80's. Last year the re-released the Lion force Voltron, and I snapped it up! But during some remodeling in my apartment, it was broken [IMG]. I wish they'd do the vehicle force too. I did manage to get a pretty cool Mach V last year. It came with Sprittle and Chim-chim hiding in the trunk [IMG]. Man, the memories ...

Hrm, I don't remember those. All I could think of were the Insecticons (from the Transformers). Those guys didn't look human though.

I loved GO-BOTS. They may be a ripoff of transformers, but I love them any way

He-man fans, toys were re-issued there a while ago.
TF fans, new comic out this month (It was my signature for a good while). You can buy re-issues from Japan of the originals (next ones are Jazz and Prowl) and MAYBE Hasbro will re-isssue them provided the TF box sells well. So buy buy buy.
    And whoever said visionaries [IMG]
Got a pretty good assortmen of old toys around my room and attic, and its sale season again, so looking to add more [IMG]

Not only do the toys suck now, but the cartoons are horrible. Looks like all the bitching from "parents that want the government to watch your kid for you" finally paid off.

With that said, thank God for the Cartoon Network! May all the gun carrying, anvil dropping, rocket riding, drug taking looney toon characters live on! (although I heard they can't show any episodes with Speedy Gonzalez, it "offends" certain people)

Are there any cartoons today with the amount of "violence" of Looney Toons made today?
