I glued pieces of 1x2 together to make "slide mounts" to hold the oak light fixture.
In this photo, the mounts are in place and I am ready to slide the oak light-fixture box into place. It had a 1x2 glued at the edge of each side that would interlock onto the mounts screwed to the ceiling. It resulted in a mount with no visible hardware showing.
By making the box to hold the track light, I was able to hide the original (off-center) junction box and transformer. I actually used scraps of oak I had left over from making the ticket window.
