I like to keep frozen burgers around so when the urge strikes, I'm prepared. Usually though, they are moderately tasty at best, and the 1/4 lb size leaves very little room for error- an extra minute or so on the grill results in a hockey puck.
Even many fresh burgers just don't have all that much taste.
Yesterday we had a party, and I tried the BUBBA burger. WOW! Everyone commented on how tasty they were. They also had a looser, fresh ground beef consistency.
If they are available in your area, give them a try. Highly recommended...

Yes, we have had those, but you might want to try the ones with the Vidalia onions in them, A different brand I think too,Um!

BTW- since were all watching out weight, we tried the premade turkey patties, their taste is fine except for the occasional bone fragment which for me ruins the entire experience .[IMG]

Been having them for a few years now, to me they are probably the best frozen burger you can get from your local grocer. And the ones with the vidalia onions are real good.

We get Bubba Burgers for our FSU tailgating.

Throw a little Butt Rub seasoning on them before throwing them on the grill. Good stuff.

Here in NC, a pack of 6 1/3 pound Buba's costs $6.99 and the vidalia onion ones costs $7.99, just realized that I had a box in the fridge. Good eating.

Bubba Burgers? Are they guaranteed to make you need a quadruple bypass operation, like Bubba Clinton had?

[trucker on CB]Uh, that's a negative on the bypass[/trucker on CB]

Actually the Bubba Burger is pretty lean beef, if I remember correctly.

On a side note, I know everyone has their own grilling procedure for burgers, but if you get a pack of Bubba Burgers, you owe it to yourself to FOLLOW THE GRILLING DIRECTIONS ON THE PACKAGE.

My wife and I like the Angus burgers in the black package. They are excellent. IMO, they are equal to or better than the Omaha Steaks burgers we used to buy.

Definitely follow the directions on the package.

    No, same brand.

No different nutritionally from using fresh beef, but more convenient. If you are cooking several, the fact that they have a uniform thickness helps a lot.

They also have 1/4 lb ones if 1/3 lb is too big for you. If I remember, you get 8 patties with those, so it's still 2 lbs per box, same price.

OK, you talked me into them. I found them at Vons (in LA area). They were $8.99 a box, although they were on special for $6.99. Got the ones with Vidalia onions. I'm going to throw a couple on the grill tonight. My mouth is watering.

Hrm, since the GF doesn't eat burgers I'll pick some up, always hate to buy a whole pound of hamburger, use half of it and then never have anything to do witht he other half/third

oh damn, according to the website no one in colorado carries them [IMG]

Don't any of your supermarkets have a meat counter where you can buy a smaller portion? You don't have to buy everything from the pre-packaged case.

If you're really curious, you can also buy Bubba burgers on-line via mail order. The link is on the page somewhere (near the bottom, I think).

    Welcome to the Bubba Era!

I've been serving these little treats at parties for the past few years. Guests love 'em...until I get too drunk and forget they're on the grill.

I'll echo the others-- follow the directions.

In reviewing the website, I don't think you can buy them online. I don't believe frozen hamburger patties ship very well through the mail.

    Best regards,
    ~~Nathan

If they can ship Ice Cream via mail, they can ship hamburgers. Companies ship meat and seafood via mail all the time. Get with the 21st Century, dude!

The link for mail order is right off their "Where to Buy" page. It is via a 3rd party company, Rockes or something like that.

Just finished eating my first Bubba Burger. Two thumbs up! [IMG] [IMG]

I'm really picky about meat and these passed the test. Tasted good. Not grisly. Didn't shrink down on the grill. Yum.

    Thanks for the recommendation!

Yeah, but it's either too expensive or more often than not, gone by the time I get to the store.

Curious. Around here there's no price difference that I'm aware of, and unless you shop after hours when the meat counter is closed, it's always well stocked with the basics (i.e. ground beef).

Woohoo! I can pick up some here in Michigan at Meijers. After work tomorrow, I'm gonna stop and get some. I can't wait to try them out.

Malcolm, you schooled me. I stand corrected. :b And now I know I can make one less trip to the grocery store. [IMG]
