Truth about Sony Dream system (1 Viewer)

i just got back from Paris. I had a lot of free time and perused the record and hi-fi stores. The biggest one, fnac, had the Sony Dream system (all in one, amp, dvd player, speakers) on display. This was the one that goes for $900-something US. The display said 5 x 35 watts! This thing boasts, what, 700 watts?
I had just bought the one a notch lower than that and was greatly disappointed. Seioursly, i have louder boom boxes.
France has a lot of laws and one must be truth in advertising because there it was. This thing is a shelf stereo at best.
Oh, Fnac also had an instore peformance by Atomic Kitten. Meow!

If you are trying to fill a large room with small speakers
I don't care who makes them it's not going to happen.

Most of those all in one deals would be best suited for a
small bedroom not an average living room. That's IMHO of
course.
