Will a progressive DVD player, connected directly to a projector, provide a better picture than a regular good-quality non-progressive DVD player, connected via component cables to an iScan Pro (which in turn is connected to the projector with a Component VGA cable)? Thanks.

Yes, trivially true. However, the question is how much better?
I too am interested in knowing. I have a Pioneer DV-F07 and must either do without its convenience or use something like an iScan.
