I thought the original movie was from Mattie's POV too. I just got through watching the BRD and for the most part it's very good presentation. I'll be watching the remake tomorrow.

Both movies follow the book closely, apparently. I can tell exactly what it happening in the story in the scenes I've seen in trailers for the new film.

I ordered the 1969 Blu-ray from DVD Empire when it was on backorder. It has shipped; but I would not be surprised if I don't get it by Christmas. Must resist the urge to watch it on TCM tonight.

I know it's blasphemous to suggest digitally altering a film, but Wayne's TG would benefit by having Glenn Campbell replaced with an actor who could act. His lack of acting ability takes me out of the movie every time I watch it. It's like a big puss-filled zit on an otherwise attractive face.

I make the suggestion with tongue only half in cheek.
