Is there any news about "Troy" being released on dvd ?
It's supposedly streeting in Australia on October 19 (along with Seinfeld Seasons 1-3) so I'd expect it here around October 20 or so. Makes sense too because Warner usually follows a 5 month window release pattern.
I can't wait for this one. I was let down by my first viewing, but after seeing again with my mom today, I loved it. I hope the dvd sports good picture and sound.
Seeing as how this a new Warner DVD, would you expect the picture to be anything less than stellar on this release?
That's true. They're always quite good. They even gave 'Gods and Generals' great picture and sound, and that was probably they're biggest bomb of 2003. Lucky for me, though, since it was my No. 2 for last year.
I'm already on DVD. Just send me your snail mail and I'll send you a copy (please indicate X or R rating)!
Just wondering if anyone on the forum has heard or read anything on a DVD release for Troy. This was probably my favorite film of the year along with Spider-Man 2 of course. I was hoping it would be released before the end of the year but hadn't seen one thing about it yet. Just curious...
I enjoyed this movie too. I heard November but who knows?
How about these two thread from the last week? (both indicating release Oct 19th):
I'm hearing January now, not sure why they'd want to wait that long mind. Especially as the Australian disc was recently announced for October.
Most studios are announcing their Nov & Dec titles by now but still no word from WB about Troy.
Australia DVDs street on Wednesdays & it's coming out Oct 20th there & Mondays in the UK, due Oct 25th there.
It has been rumored for Oct 19th in the US/Canada for some time but still no confirmation from Warners, it would make sense for that date seeing as it would come out worldwide within the same week.
I seem to remember someone commenting about late announcements from WB for Taking Lives & New York Minute, I can't see their thinking why they'd do this as it gives dealers less time to get their preorders in.
Has anyone in the industry had the nod from any insiders about this date or any other date?
This thread shows it being released here on Oct. 19th.
so do dozens of DVD web sites, they have for the last month but nothing definite!
I started a topic about this the other day but it was deleted (for no apparent reason). Warner has been really late on announcing new titles, Taking Lives wasn't even announced until late June, early July and it just came out on August 17th.
