I'm having a problem connecting a projector/receiver/DVD player up. Specifically, there are front and rear pairs, a Denon DRA-295 receiver, a DVD player, and and older Epson projector.
The projector only takes S-Video or composite video signals.
The wiring is DVD feeds L/R audio to receiver and video to projector only.
The audio works great until the video is plugged in. I can turn the volume all the way up with no loss of signal to the speakers.
However, soon as the video is plugged from DVD player to projector the receiver shuts down (overload?). The same result if the S-video cable is used.
I can disconnect one pair of speakers and get the projector to work, but only at low volume.
I'm wondering what happens with the audio signals out of the DVD player when the video is plugged in? What is the relationship between the video and audio signals originating in the DVD player? How does this get fixed.
Thanks,
Greg
