Hi, i recently got a Pansonic SC-HT900 surround sound system, and i hooked it up to my PS3 via digital optical audio, and it works just fine with games i play in Dolby Digital. But for some reason it doesn't with DTS output which is a problem for me because God of War 3 is only in DTS. All my receiver says when i try to use it with a DTS output for a game is "error". the receiver is DTS compatible however.

I'm wondering if there's a setting i can change to make it work, or whether the receiver is defective. Any help you could provide would be very helpful.

Go into audio settings on the PS3 and make sure DTS is checked.

If this doesn't work, try playing a DVD or Blu-ray that has a DTS soundtrack.

Thanks for the reply, i figured out it's because the receiver doesn't decode DTS 5.1 from an external source over the optical cable.

But now i have another problem, i get periodic pops where i lose sound and the signal to my receiver. :(
