Hi
On weekend I upgraded my KLH front speakers to Polk Audio R40. When I play anything, these speakers gave a hissing sound. Even when i play movies with no sound [mute], i can still hear hissing from, topmost speaker or tweeter.
When I revert to my KLH's there is no hissing.
Can anyone please tell me what should I do to get rid of this.

Here is my Setup

1) Sherwood AD 7106 receiver
2) Polk R40 Main
3) Klh centre & Rear
4) Apex AD660
5) HomeDepot 12g Speaker wire with Radio Shack Connectors

Your polks are just showing you how bad your amp is. Try putting a Klipsch on a sony..NEED NEW RECIEVER

Does your reciever have pre-amps.

Matthew I don't think they have preamp!!! So is there anything I can do to eliminate that hissing, other than replacing RECEIVER.

Are you putting youre ear near the tweeter in order to hear the hiss? If so its pretty much normal to hear some hiss. Im not sure why you cant hear the hiss with the KLH tho.
