Tropical vacation... Take the kids?? (1 Viewer)

The wife and I are planning to take our first tropical holiday in the upcoming year. We've travelled as far as Texas, but never any all-inclusive resorts. I'd like to go for 2 weeks, but the wife says we won't survive without the kids! They will be 5 years old and 1 yr.

Will it be better for us to take a break from the kids for 7-10 days? Or take them and go for 7-14 days? We've never both left them for more than 1 or 2 days at a time.

I think the kids are still too young for you to take a week away.

Maybe when the youngest one is 4-5 I could see it.

Take em to aresort with a suppervised kids area so you can leave them for an afternoon and do a few adult things.

The 1 yr old will be tough to travel with as many all-inclusives w/daycare won't watch them that young. Plus they usually have to be out of diapers to use the pool (unless there is a dedicated kiddie pool)

Check out Beaches. Excellent programs for the kids, decent food, great drinks, overall good service.
