Recently I wondered how much is the average ticket price was for everyone in the USA. When I found out I was floored at the answer because I was off by a decent amount. I was curious to know what others thought so I decided to put together a statistical trivia thread. Of course you can search the net for the answers but just guess and after a few days maybe a week I'll post the answers and the link from NATO (National Association of Theater Owners). One more thing the answers are based on stats gathered in 2002, I haven't the slightest idea why they do not have 2003 stats yet. Let's go!

    1. What's the average US ticket price?
    2. What's the total number of admissions to US movie theaters?
    3. Total US Box Office grosses in the US?
    4. Total number of movie screens in the US?
    5. The number 1 movie chain in the US, ie. Lowes or National Amusements ?[/list=1]

I was told by some employees at Loews that it was Regal... Loews, which has a near monopoly in NYC is apparently non existent outside of the tristate area. That would leave National Amusements [IMG]. I have only been to 2 such theaters, and they are little more than OK - they don't hold a candle to the crappiest Loews.

Do we pick from those two, or are they just examples? I was thinking Regal.

We have two in Dallas. They are where I normally go for movies that don’t play in one of our specialty theaters.
