I was just wondering if there has ever been any talk about this documentary mini-series being released on DVD.

I watched the whole thing on rerun one day and was absolutely captivated throughout the lengthy running time.

I would love to see it on DVD.

    Anyone know?

Geez, I've never even heard of it! Being a nerd, I'm captivated by the title - what's it about?

It's about the evolution of the computer industry and it's incredibly fascinating and well made.
There is an IMDB listing here.

It's a documentary about the rise of the computer industry, with very rare interviews with Jobs, Gates, Ballmer, and others. It's hosted my Rob X. Cringly who was once an Apple emplyee. Definitely a set to find, but it's currently OOP I think. Someone on here or an Apple forum mentioned that it was OOP. Amazon might have it, VHS only.

Thanks! I figured it had something to do with Bill Gates. [IMG]

    Good question Rain.
I hope someone here has the skinny on this set's debut into DVD.
(I had to tape this doc off of PBS, along with "Pirates of Silicon," onto a tape of old 80's videos I collected. Now I will probably never again see Alphaville's video for "Big in Japan" again. [IMG] )

This was an excellent documentary and gives a great historical perspective to anyone interested in the computer industry.

Not to get off topic here, but that's a great Alphaville song. I've never seen the video though.

Is Amazon the only vender carrying this DVD? I can't find it anywhere else.

My mother bought this for my birthday about 10 years ago and I haven't even watched it yet! Now that I'm feeling guilty I'll go watch it...
