Does anyone know of any movies (preferably DVD) with the long version of the old Tristar snipe? The one with Pegasus coming from the side way in the distance, then galloping forward with spread wings?

This was extremely cool at the drive in, right at dusk when the sky color roughly matched the screen color and it looked like Pegasus was about the leap from the screen.

Now it's the Columbia Lady/Pegasus combo or the short version.

If I could find it, I'd buy a turkey of a DVD just for the snipe...

Off the top of my head, I know it's on:

    Glory (certainly no turkey)
    Hook
    The Muppets Take Manhattan
    Labyrinth

    Hope that helps.

The first version of this, like the lighthouse beam in the Castle Rock logo, was terrible, with poor animation - wings obviously tacked-on and fake-looking. Both logos were cleaned up considerably using CGI for later releases.

It was on Terminator 2, but I've never seen it included on any video release of it.

Slightly off topic, but if anyone wants to watch a 3D animated spoof some friends and I made of the old TriStar short, check out 'Cutting Room Chore'. We made what we thought a blooper reel from the filming of it would have looked like.
It's the one on the left of the movies page here:

    Here's a promo still:

The opening of "Harriet The Spy" has a take-off of the old Tri-Star opening also- it has a hippo instead of the pegasus, and keeps bumping into things.
The otherwise-forgettable "Another You" from Tri-Star has Richard Pryor yelling during the intro- "Whoa! Whoa!" Then as it flies off the screen there's a crash followed by "Fucking white horse!!"
