A couple of days ago I watched A Lawless Street from the disappointing new Randolph Scott box-set. In a supporting part playing an unfaithful wife past her best was Jean Parker whose movie career began twenty years or so earlier. In those days she was a real knock-out!

Yesterday I watched Jean Parker again, this time in The Gunfighter where she played a sadder and wiser woman who has retained her humanity despite losing her man in a gunfight.

She was very busy throughout the 1930s, appearing in Gabriel Over The White House, and posed for her share of publicity photos, a few of which are still available.

The Jean Parker film I particularly want on disc is the missing-in-action Black Tuesday starring Edward G. Robinson.

Good pictures. Many thanks. I think the only film with Lana Wood I've seen is Diamonds Are Forever. I'll have to check what else she has done. By the way, in his autobiography Robert Wagner makes clear he does not like Lana Wood!
I’m sure the feeling was mutual.
