I'm rewatching Jacob's Ladder and she looks and sounds amazing. She actually makes me think of Ana De Armas a little.

Ella Raines in: TALL IN THE SADDLE-1944. She played a tough westerner, but for the publicity photos, she donned shorts. She does not wear that outfit in the movie. The shorts made it to some of the posters even though the movie was set in the Old West.

Bonus: Classic hypnotic Alizee video from 2003 or 2004, when she was at the height of her naughty but very nice persona.

Yours is the only post about Ella Raines in this thread. I watched her yesterday in The Suspect and a few days ago in The Web. I reckon she deserves another citation.

Although she was never a special favorite of mine, I've always liked Ella Raines particularly in the films she made with Robert Siodmak.

There are a few films of hers missing from my collection which I doubt will ever come out on Blu-ray disc. I've just ordered the DVD of Corvette K-225 and I may have to rent some of the others from one of the online traders.

Impact is available on DVD from two sources. Does anyone know if either DVD is any good?

Ella Raines is wearing a neat hat there.

IMPACT was one of those public domain movies that I saw many times when the cable stations outbid the big studio film packages away from the smaller TV stations. I like it. Ella Raines and Brian Donlevy are an interesting pairing.

As usual, you can take a look at the FilmDetective version at TheFilmDetective.TV and at YouTube. There's also a nice YouTube upload from Cult Cinema Classics. That one has a Canadian, U.K. or maybe Australian censor card at the front.

I might as well post the rest of my Ella Raines, TALL IN THE SADDLE, pictures.

It's not the only post about Ella Raines on the forum.;)

Anybody that has read my thread, knows she is a favorite of mine.

Eddie Muller stated last week, if he had to be stuck with one of the ladies from "Noir" in a tough situation, his choice would be Ella Raines based on some of her film characters in film noirs. I think her role in "Tall in the Saddle" further supports that argument.

It's one of my regrets that Sony have not continued those Bad Girls box-sets as I'd love to have a DVD of Mr. District Attorney where Marguerite Chapman plays a very bad girl indeed.

It is available on this disc from VCI. I have it and it looks great.

I watched Mr. District Attorney on this disc last night. Pretty good picture quality and very good sound quality, so many thanks for the recommendation. Marguerite Chapman deserved to be in bigger films.

Well, it seems that I have stayed away from this thread for far too long. Lots of great posts in the interim. So, to make up for my absence, how about a little Lisa Gaye action? She was the younger sister of Debra Paget. Now that is one good-looking family!

I've seen very little of Lisa Gaye in films but I've always enjoyed looking at photos of her! Thanks very much for posting these.

You're welcome, Robin! Yes, Ms. Gaye didn't appear in too many films, but has an extensive list of TV credits to her name, ranging from the mid-'50s to when she retired from the business in 1970.

Here she is in the Audie Murphy western, Drums Across the River (1954):

She appeared in a ton of TV shows, particularly westerns.

I've just leaned that Drums Across The River has been released on Blu-ray disc in Germany. I'm going to investigate and, if I get the impression it's a good disc, I'll buy it.

I did buy the German Blu-ray disc and it does present Lisa Gaye very well. Unfortunately in general the image quality is no better than good standard definition.
