In my opinion, only a bit. Her main work is far away from my taste, but she made three albums of "standards" with Nelson Riddle and although with many of the songs she's a real ham, a few she gets just right. I particularly admire her rendition of Mean To Me, a song I have by Ella Fitzgerald and Vic Damone among others. I think Linda Ronstadt's version is the definitive one.

Fair enough. If we all liked the same things, it would be a boring world. And beauty is, as they say, in the eye of the beholder. While we can agree to disagree about her looks, I doubt most music fans or indeed music critics would find much to disparage in her vocal skills, whether or not they find some of the genres she's best known for to their taste.

This is a nice clip of her singing a duet with the great Johnny Cash on a 1969 episode of his variety show. IMO, she looks and sounds lovely here. Your mileage may vary.

Recently watched Holiday Affair (1949) and was reminded once again what a good-looking woman (and fine actress) Janet Leigh was.

Not half-bad as a blonde, either.

She was a natural -- looked great in that film Natural beauty and a wonderful soul never herd ONE bad word about her.

I'm very pleased to see continuing admiration for Janet Leigh who was one of the very first actresses I found irresistibly attractive when I was still a boy. Mind you, I don't know why she's in the Brunettes thread. To me, Janet Leigh is very much a blonde!

I'm about to start my annual season of Christmas movies, and Holiday Affair with Robert Mitchum will be the film I watch today.

Leigh was a redhead in the early days. I believe her only brunette role was "Bye Bye Birdie".

This still is from, her redhead role in "Jet Pilot".

Her daughter is a redhead too.

Norma Shearer discovered her and Ms Leigh was a star! Love her in Holiday Affair - Scaramouche - Psycho BUT my fave is Holiday Affair - my fave Brunette Dorothy Lamour!
