I'll make this short and sweet.
This is one movie that knows exactly what it is. The ads are selling EXACTLY the movie you will see. One of the best over-the-top action fests put to celluloid.
I loved the commercials for the first film (I still laugh when the front door comes down), but was rather let down by the actual movie. It had good scenes, but it left me quite cold. So why see the sequel? I miss the 80's.
This is a noticeable improvement over the first film. It embraces the mentality, has fun with it, and provides better direction and cinematography. Plus...Keith David (too briefly).
That said, the SFX company should leave it off the sizzle reel and resume. Terrible. But suitable for the film.
It does NOT ask you to leave your brain at the door. It doors ask you to leave it in a low gear. Still, it knows how silly it is, and being in on the joke makes it much more pleasureable to watch.
As a film, 6/10.
As what it is, 100/10.
Worth the money if you like the ads.
I'll see the 3rd,
Chuck
