Transferring i-pod, not itunes library to external hard drive. (1 Viewer)

Forgive me if this is the wrong forum, but I think it's right. In the past I've dealt with hard drive space issues, but I just bought an external hard drive. It's 80 gig, and I own a 20 gig hard drive. I know there is an easy way to move my Itunes library to a new drive, but I deleted much of it from there to conserve space.. Now I want to just move the songs from the ipod to the drive. I went to ipodlounge.com but didn't find exactly what I needed. I may just be overlooking something obvious, but I could use some help. Thanks.

The iPod does not support this function natively. You will need a 3rd-party utility like this in order to copy the music back from your iPod to a PC.

If you're on PC get ephpod:
http://www.ephpod.com/

load it up, let it read the drive, select all the files and right click. You should see a copy from device option, which will work.

Of note, it will build all the file names and directories based on ID3 tags... and you can stipulate how it formats things in the options some where.
