The ironic thing is why this was caught on video from so many different angles. Well...supposedly someone was suing the city because they said this intersetion was too dangerous and the city was doing nothing about it. So he set up multiple cameras around the intersection to get footage to show in court just how dangerous the intersection was on a typical day.

I guess he gets to make his point loud and clear with this now.

Actually, I thought it looked staged, just my 2 cents...

The truck stalled on the tracks, then the light turned red...then during that time the train approached. The front cab and triver were well in front of the tracks and he was not hurt. It was just the trailer that was destroyed. There were two individuals in the train engine that were injured though.

Anybody have a link to the video in a format that someone who isn't using Windows can view?

No, it didnt. There is a traffic light a few yards after the train tracks, we have many intersections with train tracks just like this is the Buffalo, Ny area. The truck was stopped at the traffic light after the tracks before the train came. I hope that is a clear explination

MSNBC had a follow-up interview with the guy who filmed the whole incident. It turns out he was recording the intersection from two different angles on a daily basis to be used in his upcoming court case against the city for not doing anything about the dangerous railway crossing.

I guess the intersection IS as dangerous as he claims! [IMG]

Basically that is what I said. The reason he could not move out of the way was because his truck was stalled according to what was reported on multiple local news agencies. I did not see it happen, but I am familiar with the intersection.
