It happened in chapter 40. Has this happened to anyone else? The disc looked like it was ok. Could it be a problem with my DVD player? I have a Pioneer DV-333. I've been looking to upgrade, maybe this will be a good excuse to get the wife to let me get a new one [IMG].

Had a similar problem on a PS2, halfway through chapter 39, the picture started pixellating, and then it skipped all the way through the rest of the movie (made it a better film, though).
I exchanged it for another copy, and it seems to be fine. Probably a bad pressing to go with a bad film [IMG]

Thanks. Now how to convince the wife we need a new DVD player to go with all the other new upgrades.

If I put the TPM disk in my Pioneer DVD414 (yes, its old) and hit play before pushing in the tray, the disk loads, and looks the 20th Century Fox logo and the THX promo endlessly. it never goes to the menu or the movie.
I also can't get the Coruscant menu to appear, but the picture quality is awsome. I don't like that you can't change the audio track on the fly. I guess it has to do with the Spanish version with the text crawl in the beginning being in Spanish!

I actually CAN change the audio while it's playing on my old Toshiba DVD player.

I played it on a friend's sony and it didn't totaly lock up but it would pause the movie for 20 seconds at a time on the same chapter so it has been exchanged. I'll try again today.

I had no problems with it on my Panny A120.
The only thing even resembling a problem was an echo of what someone mentioned above: "I also can't get the Coruscant menu to appear". When I finally gave up and just let the DVD choose it's own theme, it finally selected Cruscant randomly, so I got to see it after all. Yippee! [IMG]
Gorgeous video, awesome audio, and the movie was the quality I remembered from May 1999 opening day: it did NOT suck. In fact, it grows on you with repeated viewings. So quit putting it down, all right? [IMG]

    BOBBY,
There could be a possible problem with your firmware or it is possible that the disc is really defective.Check your disc for any possible cracks,or minor stress, which can be caused by the tight holder that holds the disc.
An AUSTRALIAN site had reported that certain amount of discs had suffered from manufacturing defects- www.dvdbits.com

Not enough mitichlorians in your firmware. You need to bleed on your set.

But Cees, it's such a good way to get the minister of finance(wife) to approve funding for an upgrade. [IMG]

I overlooked that possibility. But then again, although we are ruled by a Queen, households in this country (Holland) aren't matriarchies!
