I figure since I live in Calif I need to purchase Total Recall! I used to love the movie but have not purchased it because all Artisian DVD's suck (with the exception of Terminator 2)! I bought my wife the Dirty Dancing special edition and let me tell you in one word, "POS", well I guess it was three words! That DVD was horrid, the video and sound. I am hoping somebody will help me, I know Totall Recall is only 9.99 at Target, but I don't want to support any of Artisians titles unless they do a better job.!!

    Yes, it is good.

The barebones edition has a slighty crisper image quality than the SE, but both are pretty good.

I have the SE and the quality is pretty good. However, Artisan has aleady said a new edition will be coming out (eventually).

I agree the Terminators are excellent, but I have not seen the new Stargate. Both of those movies always had high expectations to be good. Terminator 2 has been a home theater staple for years and Stargate was the first DD movie available on laserdisc. What I am saying is for the most part Artisan does not do a good job restoring movies that need it, Stargate and Terminator 2 were movies they had to do well because I would imagine they are the top titles in their library.

Good video and audio, terrible commentary (Schwarzenegger constantly interrupts Verhoeven to give a play by play, "look, I just killed that guy...now I'm running" - it's really that bad at times), good documentary. Other stuff is random filler.

Deep Discount DVD is selling the SE for $8 with free shipping - that's a steal.
