    Hello all,

I have a quick question. I have the Toshiba 50h81 and I was looking at the dec page for it in BestBuy.com and I noticed this:

"IDSC-Pro (Intelligent Digital Scan Conversion) system upgrades standard 480i signals to either 540p or 1080i, making your favorite TV shows look great"

Is that true? Or is that only for the 50HX81 models etc.

    Thanks for any information!!

Yup, your TV upconverts to 540p, not just the HX models.

    Greetings

Take a look at what it does to 480P signals in the upconversion process and you will be less than thrilled about the image.

    Use the AVIA TVL200 pattern.

    Regards

Michael, I'm interested in the toshiba widescreens also, but from your post I feel that you don't like them. From your experience, is there another widescreen set(50" or smaller) that you would recommend?

    Thanks,

    Kevin
