I'm getting very close to buying one of these models but would like to know if anyone here has tested Apple's DVDr media with them. Neither is on their list (http://www.apple.com/dvd/compatibility/) but wasn't sure if that's because they don't work or the listed hasn't been updated with these newer models.

    Patrick,
If I'm not mistaken, the drives in Apples Superdrive are DVD-R. You should have no problems with most DVD players and this writable format.
Also, according to VCD Helper.com the 4700 has been tested with this format and passed with no problems.

FYI: Just tried an Apple DVDr with a Toshiba 5700 and everything worked just fine.
