Will it be considered an upgrade if I dish my progressive Toshiba 5109 for the Interlaced Pioneer DV-09? I know it is not progressive output, but how good is the DV-09?

was considering doing this since the prices on the DV-09s have come down dramitically.

Will I notice an improvement in DD/DTS and cd playback though the coax digital out on the DV-09 over the Toshiba SD-5109?

Thanks,

David

I believe I'd stick with the Toshiba. Odds are, the audio output will be very similar and I figure the progressive nature of the 5107 will outshine the Pioneer's interlaced picture.

Progressive is usually always better than interlaced. Well...that is with the exception of the pseudo-progressive scan players from Pioneer.
