hey folks, I was just cruising the Deep Discount 20% off sale. The coupon "SUPERSALE" works for 20% off. The fine print says it doesn't work for electronics, but when I put both of their HD dvd players in my cart, it took off the 20%. It saved about $100 and $160, respectively. I'm not in the market, but I just thought I'd pass it along. Worth a shot, at least...

What on earth is the difference between the HD-A1 and the HD-XA1? Where is there such a huge price difference? It's not as if it's an HD-A2 or something.

from what I've heard the more expensive one outputs 1080P, while the cheaper one is 1080i. I've also heard that it is very hard to tell the difference between the two. Possibly (I assume) because most displays capable of 1080p will double the lines anyway...

Actually the 1080p output is the difference between the new HD-XA2 and HD-A2.... the A1 and the XA1 are both 1080i, the differences are just in the case (it has a powered retracting face plate) and the XA1 I think is the only one with an RS-232 port (in case you have a Crestron system)
