I was all set on the Toshiba but I just found out the Sony will be available within the next couple weeks at the exact same retail price of $2199 and has many nice new features. I obviously haven't seen the new Sony yet but I didn't like the picture on last years as much as the Toshiba, but on the other hand the Sony has added DVI (not just upgradeable like Tosh), the DRC is adjustable, and the price has dropped considerably. I still like the Tosh but you have to admit the cabinet looks like it was borrowed from the 1980s.

Any opinions one way or the other? Thanks for the help.

I'm going with the Sony. 480p and DVI already there make the difference for me. Plus no ghosting.

Take a look and see which one you like better. You can hardly go wrong, as far as I know.

Here's an interesting question. The SONY specs I have seen say it includes a DVI interface. The Toshiba specs says it's DVI upgradable. Neither mention DCHP.

Now, the specs for the Toshiba HDX series do specify that it has DVI/DCHP.

So, does the SONY have DCHP? Is the Toshiba upgradable to DCHP?
