I am debating the merits of these two sets which cost the same. I haven't heard as much about the Mits, but from what I understand it seems like the Tosh is better for "now" performance - better line-doubling and sub-480i performance in general with good stretch modes (despite some upconversion to 540p problems) but perhaps the Mits is better for Hi-def?

But that's just a guess - and a vague summary. Anyone want to weigh-in?

Personally, I think that the Toshiba's better stretch modes, excellent line doubling of 480i material and much shallower form factor far, far outweigh the fairly insignificant upconversion problem, which you are never likely to notice. There's something about the color of the Tosh sets that strikes me as very natural and pleasing.

But the Mits are good sets, too. If you prefer that picture and have the room for a deeper set, I'm sure you'd be happy.
