How different is the new Toshiba 34HF81C from the old Link Removed ?
It now claims 3:2 pulldown conversion, where as the old version claimed "Intelligent Digital Scan Conversion". The former is now named "IDSCpro". Whatever the case I know for a fact that the image quality in interlaced mode on the CW34X92 is inferior to using a Panasonic RP91 in progressive mode, so I'm guessing it is just a line doubler.
What about scaling in progressive mode? The old one locks to full screen.
Also, I wonder if the Canadian price is going to remain much better than the US price. By comparison, the CW34X92 was horrendously priced compared to the Canadian version... about 35-50% more for the same machine.

Greetings
The new model sells for $3000 in all the stores here in Canada.
You should be able to get it for less than that ... likely $2700 range.

Doh! Well I have the previous model already (paid about the same price) and at that price I can't justify upgrading any time soon.
I wonder what chip it uses for the 3:2 pulldown, and if it locks into full in progressive mode.
I assume the rest of the TV is more of less the same. I'm still having problems adjusting the colours correctly, and I don't know how adjustable geometry is. My image is shifted maybe a half degree clockwise.
