I think I've narrowed it down to one of the Toshiba models.
As far as dvd picture quality is concerned, is there a distinguishable difference between the H, HX, or HDX models.
    I'm leaning toward a 50HX81 (82 is the newer model, I think).

As far as picture quality is concerned, for DVD, not a huge different. For HDTV, quite a noticable difference.

The HDX also has picture tubes that won't deteriorate over time as much as the 'H' tubes will, and a digital DVI input.

The 'H' sets are great, but the HDX is definitely worth the difference in price, in my opinion.

Does the HDX line upconvert all 480 signals to 540p like they do in the H series? If so, is the converter any better? Other than different CRT's and a DVI connector, is there anything else that is improved or different on the HDX?
