I would refuse to put any story spoilers up, anyway, since I'd just be cheating you out of FFX's best feature. There are quite a few major (shocking) plot twists throughout the course of FFX, and some of them are very emotional. I'd personally recommend you avoid all FFX media until the NA launch.
My final time was about 66 hours, but I did part of some of the sidequests (there are a *whole* lot of them... I'd guess my play time would be up to about 150+ hours on this save if I do everything), but the language barrier cost me a bit of time. It's definitely not a short game, though - there are at least 10 hours of cinematics throughout the game.
For me, FFX is tied with FFVI as my third favorite in the series, behind Tactics and VIII.
