What are the top five best cases out so far? I would say

1. Evil Dead, Book of the Dead

2. Toy Story 1 and 2, The Ultimate Toy Box

3. Brazil, The Criterion Collection

4. Akira, Limited Edition Metal Tin

5. Lord Of The Rings: The Fellowship Of The Ring, Extended
Edition

That's my list, what does everyone else think?

i agree with you on your choices, but there are a couple others worth mentioning. The Royal Tenenbaum's booklike cover has fooled many people who examine my dvd collection from afar. (I place it on its side so it looks like a book) and the Criterion collection of Fear and loathing in las vegas is pretty nice. But PULP FICTION is one of the classiest covers out there. :emoji_thumbsup:

I agree on Evil Dead: BotD, Toy Story: UTB, and FOTR: EE. I'd also add The Wicker Man.

Dan's choices are really good too. I even fool myself on The Royal Tenenbaums from time to time :)

For me it would be (in no particular order) Fight Club, Se7en, Punch Drunk Love, The Book of the Dead, and I also like the Second Season cover for the Sopranos.

IMO, Band of Brothers is by far the coolest packaging TV or film.

worthy of mentioning:

Boogie Nights SE
Magnolia SE
Tombstone (Vista)
Almost Famous (untitled)
Amelie

I also dig the new Warner SEs (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, The Right Stuff, ect.)

eraserhead
repo man tin
godfather trilogy
boogie nights 2 disc
---and my winner for best cover---
fear and loathing: criterion, when you take the outside plastic case off, there are no markings on the case at all except for a signature of the artist, i think it fits the film well.

The Evil Dead (truly the most elaborate)

Band of Brothers (metal case!)

The Walt Disney Treasures ( more metal cases!)

Ultimate Toy Box (clear slip case)

Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade (another clear slip case)

Close Encounters 2 disc set (embossed slip case)

Brotherhood of the Wolf 3 disc set (cooler cover image than US release)

Fight Club 2 disc set

How about that Herzog/ Kinski box set?
or the West Side Story box set either.. that's pure class.
and I think that Criterion's Night and Fog has one of the most beautiful covers i have seen.
While Synapse's Blue Sushine front and back rock!

I'm done. :)
