I'd like to mention just five movies.

Local Hero

Oh yes. Forgot to mention Local Hero. And Midnight Run.
I have the HD-DVD of "Midnight Run", the master for which I'm sure Universal will dust off at some point with hopefully not much edge-enhancement. That, "Balls Of Fury", and "Slither" are the 3 HD-DVD's in my collection that aren't Blu-Rays yet (as far as I can tell). And I surely agree with your other choice(s).

Here is one film that nobody has mentioned...oddly.

Just was thinking about it the other day and thought it would make
a sensational Blu-ray release...

...and of course, a huge second for REMO WILLIAMS which never got
a proper DVD release here in the states. My copy is imported from Japan.

Paperhouse is available in France with removable French subtitles, however according to Amazon France it is Region B - so it may be locked.

My wish list in 1980s blu rays include:

Pixote
Missing
Independence Day
Star 80
Crimes of the Heart
The Unbearable Lightness of Being
Atlantic City
Raggedy Man
Only When I Laugh
Crimes of Passion

Speaking of Mickey Rourke (Year of the Dragon, Diner) how about The Pope of Greenwich Village? I've always enjoyed the pairing of Mickey Rourke and Eric Roberts in that film.
Love The Pope of Greenwich Village and yes, I'd be all in on that as well. It's a great film that should be on blu-ray. I think there is a lot of stuff from the 1980s that has not made it to blu yet that really should. I limited myself to 10 when I made my list. But as we see here all the time there are neglected films from every decade we are all hoping will appear at some point on blu-ray.

Oh and some updates (which I missed earlier) for my 1980s Blu-ray Desired List.

Endless Love (1981): The Brooke Shields original version. Critically panned but it did enjoy some mild box office success to the point of a 2014 remake starring the gorgeous Gabriella Wilde (wow!! all I can say is wow!). Haven't seen the remake yet but wish they had Brooke Shields in a cameo like they did with Chris Atkins in the 2012 Blue Lagoon remake. I was kinda hoping (and still hoping) for a double-feature Blu release with this film and the remake.

Flight of the Navigator (1986): OK, this is a Disney made-for-TV but it is quite interesting. Would love to see on Blu.

Ghost Story (1981): A swan song of sort for the legendary Fred Astaire. The parts where the girl turns into a hideous corpse-looking thing to give her victims heart attacks really spooked this then 21 year old U.S. Marine though I tried not to let my girlfriend Cheryl see.

Little Darlings (1980): Strange how this then-popular in 1980 film has disappeared into obscurity with limited, if any home media releases. While we get a good dose of the acting abilities of Tatum O'Neal and Kristy McNichol (two late 1970s-early 1980s teen queens), this film also featured a very young Cynthia Nixon (of Sex and the City fame). A follow on in the spate of teen summer camp comedies (Meatballs 1979)

Wild Life, The (1984): Some called this film the "official" sequel to Fast Times At Ridgemont High but no connection is expressed or implied in the film, save for the Penn brothers connection (Christopher Penn, brother of Sean). Advertised as a coming of age comedy but it has some moments of depth, particularly with the young man/Vietnam veteran friendship and the young girl (Lea Thompson just prior to Back to the Future) / older guy crush.

Working Girl (1988): Now how could the film industry missed this one for a Blu release? A slice of 1980s corporate life & politics along with some feel-good romance (girl gets the guy of her dreams).

Noach,

Great news. Looks like I have to get on Amazon UK and order a copy.

Most of these Arrow releases never see the light of day domestically.

Ragtime is, by far, my number one 80's film that belongs on Blu-ray for many reasons, not the least of which is I would LOVE to hear Randy Newman's wonderful score in DTS HD. However, since it's a Paramount picture, I'm not holding my breath (unless it's one of the films WB has licensed).
