I checked out the current DVD last night. Pretty lame with zero extras. Is an SE still in the works?

I really dig my Criterion LD but I'd gladly upgrade if a special edition comes out. (Damn that laser rot!)

When the original announcement was made
for Tootsie on DVD, I believe it
was either The Digital Bits or DVD File
that reported a SE was in the works for
future release.
Nothing has been heard since then.
I played it safe and did not buy the original
DVD release. Figures that when I try to play
it safe, the SE is never announced.

It isn't bad at at all but far from stellar. It looks slightly dated but I guess that's to be expected from an early 80's film. Still though, looked pretty clean and I didn't notice any majors defects in the image.

I would recommend the DVD. Bare bones though it may be, it's still pretty good.
Not having been a laser disc guy, I'm just happy to have been able to see the film OAR for the first time ever.
