Can a DVD with a TOC error be fixed? It just so happens to be on a DVD that is out of print.
What's a TOC error?
It means table of contents. But to answer the question we'd need to know what specific error on what disc.
That's it to the error. That's all that shows up on my DVD player "TOC error." The DVD is a Tool DVD.
I'd try a couple of things. One, make sure the disc is clean. Two, try it in another dvd player. If there's no dirt or scratches, and it won't play in any dvd player, there's probably not much you can do.
If the above doesn't work, try sticking it into a computer DVD drive and attempting to extract the data. It is a fairly involved process that's been made easier by some freely available tools and manuals. Since discussing the details of the extraction is probably against the forum rules (although the Tool dvd is out of print and, as far as I know, not replaceable) you should try googling for the subject.
