I'm wondering if any of you are having difficulty receiving WETA-DT, (Channel 26.1, etc) using an off air tuner. The signal seems to be strong, but my tuner (a SIR-T165) can't decode it.

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

WETA suggests a rescan, but the Samsung tuners are a bit buggy. It is possible to temporarily receive 26.1, though.

I have 2 Saumsung 150s and the problem is related to the fact that the direction of the broadcast is different (Arlington vs. Bethesda) for the station from memory. A couple of yrs. back, I just threw another ($22) UHF antenna in the attic since I had the lead going down to the main room. The other antenna allows me to receive all of Baltimore and all of Washington and most of the time WETA would cut out. I have not watched it in a while but I have both leads hooked to an RF A/B switch to go back and forth between each antenna. One of these yrs. I'll play with the extra antenna preamp I have on the antenna I used for WETA to see if it just adds noise or makes the signal stronger. I believe if you go to antennaweb.org it will show you a map of the directions of the signal originations.

Do you mean to say that both towers are broadcasting PSIP information?
