It may have been their highest grossing movie of the 1950's or at least of the year it came out (1955?), but there was a little movie called THE STING that was a huge hit just 2 years before JAWS that was their highest grossing release at the time.
Still, this is yet another example of a major studio ignoring their massive catalog. Universal has tons of classic Westerns (the Jimmy Stewart/Anthony Mann films come to mind) and WWII films (and TO HELL AND BACK is certainly one of them) that deserve release on DVD. Even simple, movie-only widescreen editions would suffice.
