To anyone that has a Panasonic dmr-e20 & a Playstation 2... (1 Viewer)

I am thinking of getting a PS2 for my kids. But, I want to use it as a dvd player for them also. But, I have recorded a few of their shows on dvd-r using my Panasonic dmr-e20 dvd burner. I want to know if the PS2 will play dvd-r's?

if u buy a modchip for the ps2 im pretty sure it will play dvd-r discs.

Yes if you have a Mod chip it will play them.

Maybe the PS2 is not supposed to play them, but I currently play 5 Memorex DVD-R's that were recorded on an external Panasonic DVD burner for a PC. I have others that won't, so I am sure that there are at least some brands that will play. Probably similar to getting CDR's to play on an X-Box, a few will work although most won't.

Can someone expalain what a Modchip is? How much? And where I can get one?

a mod chip is a modification you get put in the PS2, the general purpose is somewhat less than legitimate, however it may be the only way to get those dvd's to run. do a search on the internet if you want to find out where to get one.
