anyone heard about TiVO2? I heard that with a broadband connection it will provide true Video on Demand, via a connection to a huge TiVo maintained Library of movies etc.

i dunno how much of this is true, but sounds interesting either way!!

i also heard that with the new rePlayTV you will be able to share movies and shows that you records with friends and family via a broadband connection.

    sounds like great stuff!!

True VOD for the Tivo2 was demonstrated as a possibility of the platform at CES. But they aren't shipping with this capability and it may take quite a long time before all the infrastructure is in place for this.

As for sending shows via Replay, that's likely only feasible within the same household. Most broadband connections are asymmetric, with upload speed much, much slower than download speed. It could takes days to upload a program. Also, the networks are attempting to sue this feature out of existence.
