Anyone else having this problem with their units?... I had mine connected to the phone outlet for the longest time, all of a sudden our line is dead (no dial tone). So I check the line and remove all the phones and such from the outlets without success. Then i remember that the Tivo was connected as well, so i removed it..and bam..the dial tone returns. The problem lies in that whenever the Tivo is connected to the phone, the dial tone disappears. This affects the capability of the Tivo to automatically update itself when needed. I checked all the dial up settings: Dial tone detection, Call Waiting disable, etc. still the problem exists. I have listened to the line while the Tivo is connected and the unit seems to cause some type of signal which causes the operator to come on and then disconnect the phone..killing the dial tone. Please someone help me..before the Tivo goes to live with my mother-in-law.
