If you're referring to a detached speaker wire lead, there's no reason you can't crimp on a female disconnect, providing the driver has appropriate lugs to accept it. If it's a tweeter crimping may be preferable to soldering, too much heat can damage a tweeter easily.
well its a dvc woofer that the tinsel led came loose on, my friend told me that soldering won't hold it because of the protective cover on the lead, but can i just crimp them together?
Benihana, I see your problem. I don't see the harm in trying crimping , but you may want to ask someone on the Parts Express Tech Talk forum , lot's of DIY speaker builders there, surely you will get some ideas there pretty quickly. I've posted there and always got great advice.
