Looks good to me!
Looks fantastic. I love Tina Fey and can't wait to see this.
Alec Baldwin's involvement is impressive. I guess that's what you get when you host SNL umpteen times.
Tina Fey is the worst thing that ever happened to SNL, and that's saying a lot. I get tired of people treating her sex like it's a handicap. Sure, she was the first female head writer on the show but does that make up for the shocking-even-by-SNL-standards drop in quality that has occured during her reign?
I saw the preview of the show on Yahoo, and it definitely looks interesting. Definitely a show that I'm looking forward to, this fall.
Wow! I laughed out loud. Alec Baldwin can deliver dead pan like no one else.
I have to admit, based on this thread I had no interest in this show (I don't really know much about Tina Fey - I haven't watched SNL in probably 10 years), but I did watch that preview and it does look like it has some potential. Doesn't look as good as NBC's other show with a similar premise (the Sorkin one - forget what it's called..."Studio" something).
I think you're forgetting how bad it had gotten before she took over. It's been wildly inconsistent, but occasionally very good.
Didn't we have this show already - wasn't it called The Larry Sanders Show?
I disagree, it's been just as bad. The only recent stuff I liked was the digital shorts. Fey's main problem is running a skit into the ground. They just go on and on and on. If every skit was cut in half then SNL might get good again. Plus I can't stand Weekend Update anymore.
They still do that? Oopha. I couldn't stand that over 20 years ago back when Chevy Chase was doing it. That, and the musical performance were when I would always change the channel.
I like Tina Fey and Alec Baldwin but I can't stand Tracy Morgan. How original his character's name is Tracy Jordan. I'll give it a shot, because Baldwin is gold with comedy. He's one of the best hosts SNL has ever had.
Just a reminder that the premiere is tonight in the 8-spot EDT on NBC.
Caught a gander at the Canadian broadcast, and the pilot is actually very entertaining, and I ended up laughing throughout the episode. I liked this pilot more than Studio 60's.
Definately looking forward to this one. I've never had any qualms about Tina Fey's performance or writing. I'll end up taping this one since the BF is quite enamoured with Jericho right now. But I'm hoping to wean him off that show soon.
Great first ep! Getting my season pass. Tina Fey consistently cracks me up, but the entire cast is pretty spot on.
I thought the pilot was average at best. In fact, if it wasn't for Tracey Morgan, I would have bailed halfway through. I'll probably give it another episode or two to see where it goes, but the writing doesn't even come close to Studio 60. Ironically, Tina Fey is probably the weakest link on the show.
I thought it was a lot of fun.
Hopefully (fingers crossed) it'll survive against stiff competition. I'd ultimately like to see it as part of a new comedy block on NBC thursday.
ironically for me the weakest two on the show were fey amd morgan.
baldwin is brilliant in role lke this.
even his 2 commercials for the show were great.
in spite of my 2 weaks i liked the show. it was funny.
Great first episode, better than Studio 60 so far.
When did Tracy Morgan get so funny? He was on Conan a couple of weeks ago and just killed. Now he's the funniest thing on this show (he and Baldwin are thisclose). It's like Chris Rock all over again.
Only slightly disappointed that I wasn't laughing uproariously throughout the show, but still very high quality considering it was just the pilot.
So far, two Conan regulars tonight. Since they tape in NYC, they'll probably all make it to the show. My only disappointment is that Dratch shows up weekly as a different weirdo character. I was under the impression that her character was the star of The Girlie Show.
