Time Warner cable customers found themselves this morning short at numerous channels.. MTV (all), Spike, Nick (all), etc. As negotations between Time Warner & Viacom fall apart.

Our Time Warner is still carrying all those channels. But there is a scroll saying they could be removed at midnight.

It appears it's just the scroll and the temporary loss of service was unconnected. But they are definitely getting word out.

We got the message last night that several of the channels listed above could be removed. There was also a phone number to call with the suggestion that we "Demand" that this not occur.

Colonel Joe Conley: This is Crystal Palace. Are you still on?

Colonel Joe Conley: This is Crystal Palace. Are you still on? Is anyone there?
Colonel Chase: That's affirmative, sir.
Airman Dougherty: Yeah, we're here! Jesus H. Christ! We're still here!

It should be 30-40 cents, but maybe TWC uses this as an excuse for a larger rate hike.

I already got a brochure from Time Warner last week about rate hikes effective in February (about $8-10 for my service). Obviously, they're raising rates whether Viacom charged them more or not.

Just call Time Warner and ask for a lower rate. I've done that once a year for the past three years and each year they've given me a monthly discount on avereage of $25 per month (the biggest discount I got was $30 per month and the smallest $20 per month). I've save about $1,000 over the past 3 years doing that.
