Do you suppose they were just going for the shock effect by selecting "the cat in the underwear drawer" rather than "the cat in the sock drawer"?!

Seems like a cheap ploy to boost sales to me...

Actually, it's probably a gag photo. After looking at the cover again, it doesn't look like a real cover.

Yeah the original 2006 TIME man of the year selection annoyed me, so I thought I'd put up a parody cover I found the other day to stimulate some discussion here. What a cop-out.

Actually if the Flufferdoodle looked at the real cover, he would have seen himself.

There are so many good choices for man or woe-person of the year....remember it's the guy who for good or evil affected the news.

Previous selectees have included Lindy, FDR, Winston Churchill, Hitler, Stalin, George Marshall, Truman, Konrad Adenauer, Charles DeGaulle, and many other newsworthy people.

Do you remember what Wallis Simpson did?

"Hark, the Herald Angels Sing: Mrs. Simpson's pinched our King!"

Does anyone here remember what Konrad Adenauer accomplished?


For the year 2006 there is no shortage of nominees:

- the leader of Iran or North Korea
- Joe Lieberman for winning without a party backing him
- Arnold getting re-elected as a Republican in California of all places
- the wolf...no longer an endangered species
- Jack Abramoff
- Condi Rice
