You're not alone Tony! I've waited years for some things (like Get Smart) and still haven't gotten some others that I would like that have been out for some time. Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In was something I just had to have, though, and there was no waiting.

And, literally, there was no waiting. I never entertained the possibility of a release like this, so I was never waiting for it.

Do you remember that one sketch she did with Danny Kaye on a park bench, and all either of them said in the sketch was the word "Oh."

That was a good one! It takes talent to be funny both visually and audio-ally!

    I love Lul
I love Lula, the party lady. With the big blonde hair and that laugh. I could watch her do that character forever. To my knowledge she never did her again after Laugh In. And, of course, Ernestine.
Lily Tomlin could take even the tiniest bit in the show and make it seem like a character. Pure gold.

I laugh out loud everytime she's on cracking a joke. I am so glad that Laugh In finally got released as a complete series. Watching each episode is like getting my thirst quenched. I've wanted this for a long long time. Time/Life does an outstanding job when they put out a tv show.

It means I will purchase this set on this day. April is Little *Stinker* Month (Of the five persons I gave the Little *Stinker* of the Century Award to three of them have April Birthdays. April 14 is the Birthday of the Men's International Little *Stinker* of the Century Award. The Woman,s award winners have their birthdays on April 2 and April 22 respectively. I will order some Serials on those two days. I will also purchase a couple of Serials on January 27, This is the birthday of one of the Men's USA award winners (There are two of them) The second one's birthday is unknown, but the anniversary of the event that he went through to get his award occurs on July 9, which I call "Serious Thrill Issues Day".

I thought it might have something to do with "tax day."

No, they are not my relatives. On the week of January 27 I'll let you know who this person is (In 1970-71 he did something NOBODY had did in the history of this planet). In April I'll let you know about the others.

This may sound odd, but I came across the Time/Life infomercial for this series and I watched it, even though I have the set. The nature of this series with its one-liners, comments and observations, lends itself into being edited in various ways so the material seems current or new. Those who put the infomercial together did a great job with this idea, having numerous people speaking as though they were commenting on this DVD release or the information the announcer was providing.

For example, the announcer would say something like "Call us now." That would be followed by Ernestine saying "One ringy-dingy." The announcer would state a fact and Goldie says, "Is that true?" Another fact from the announcer and someone like Dick Martin says. "I didn't know that." I found it so entertaining that I'd watch it again.

^I've watched many Time-Life informercials simply due to the production values and cleverness of the productions. They are the rare ones I used to stop surfing to watch.

In the "you never know who might show up on LAUGH-IN" department, even this many years later, in Season 6 Episode 16 Dan & Dick introduce, in their New Talent Department, Charles Fleischer. I basically first heard of him, enough to remember him, when he was chosen as the voice, in 1986, for Roger Rabbit in the feature film. Thirteen years earlier, in 1973, he appeared on Laugh-In, playing odd musical instruments. His imdb page states he was doing stand-up at the age of nine, and he was in his early twenties when he made this television appearance.

Watching the series for the guest stars alone is a hoot. I'm watching season five right now. Even though others say only the first three seasons are the best I'm really loving the fifth season. It's my favorite, tied with the fourth. The only season six episodes I really enjoy are the ones Lily appeared in :)

When I got to Season 6 I decided to stretch it out a bit and basically watch one a week. I still can't believe that I am seeing episodes for the first time!

I was in a drugstore this past week and their magazine area has a Time magazine edition all about the 50th anniversary of 1968. It's really a softcover book and runs about $15. Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In gets a full two page spread in it. The first line is something about how it might be difficult to understand now how this show made such an impact in the three channel era when it arrived in 1968.
