The east coast and of course other eastern countries always get to ring in the New Year before everyone else. I have no problem with this. I do however hate to see others watch the ball drop and ring in the New Year on TV a couple hours before it's midnight here. For example MTV airs their New Years party live. By the time it's the New Year here all the programs are off the air.

    Anyone else hate this?

I celebrate new years with my family or down town. I am usually not in front of a TV/Radio, so I guess I dont notice. My family and I are usually playing games in the kitchen.

I am definitly TiVo's bitch, though living on the east coast I dont run into New Years problems. Just thought I'd chime in and declare how much of a slave I am to TiVo.

Yeah I know how you feel, the Australians got into 2002 a couple of days ago, not fair I say, and some European countries are still stuck in 1966, wow!![IMG]

Conan O'Brien had a celebration called "Happy New Year, Central Time Zone." Does that count?

CBS didn't even show a countdown for the midwest folks. Thank God for Conan.

I think the USA should so what China does, have one timezone for the whole country. Sure it gets dark at a different time, but so what? [IMG]
